Justin Moore “Small Town USA”

Small Town USA Justin Moore

This track was fun! This song went #1. This was another Jeremy Stover track that just rocks. When you hear the finished product, you can’t help but smile. I think we got this on the first or second take. The band is Steve Sheehan on acoustic, Troy Lancaster on electric, Doug Kahan on bass, Mike Johnson on steel, and Mike Rojas on piano. All these guys bring so much to the table musically. Doug is an amazing bass player, he’s a writer as well, very musical, knows when to step out, knocks your socks off and then steps back and plays the bass again.

If heaven were’nt so far away –Justin Moore

If heaven weren’t so far away—-Justin Moore

This was a surpise. Jeremy Stover, Justin’s amazing producer emailed us this link, with a video of us tracking this song. To tell you the truth, I really don’t remember there being cameras there, but I don’t remember a lot of stuff. This is a great song, I really hope it goes #1. It’s still going up the charts. This is not the official video, but the CMT studio version. Love stuff like this, it gives people a chance to see their tunes being made.

Jack Ingram “Lips of an Angel”

Tracking Jack Ingram at the Rukkus room

I love this tune. When we recorded it at the Rukkus Room in Nashville, I was bummed, I heard the playback and thought, “crap, I think I didn’t nail this.” I’ve learned the hard way to always listen to a producer (another great Jeremy Stover production) when he says, it’s done. When I’m listening back as a drummer, I’m usually listening a little too ‘microscopic’ and I’m not seeing the big picture. I should be looking at the forest, and I’m looking at a millimeter section of bark. When I first heard this on TV, I flipped, because the drums were monstrous. Jack really knocked this out of the park. I looove his voice, and he’s a really great, down to earth cat.
